I learned about this cause on the Verla Kay blueboards for children’s writers. Bridget Zinn is a writer of young adult fiction,a perky, outdoorsy, adventure-y, grab-life-by-the-ears kinda gal who lives in Oregon. You know the type. Super healthy, vegan, sunscreen nazi, processed-food fighter. Read on. What a heart-wrenching story!
(this is an excerpt from April Henry’s blog)
Three things happened to Bridget in February:
1. She got an agent for her young adult novel.
2. She got married.
3. She found out she had Stage Four colon cancer.
Read more about Bridget and her battle on her blog…she totally seems like someone you’d hang out with!
Artists, writers, editors and more from around the country are donating items for auction to help offset Bridget’s enormous medical expenses. Check them out!
If you know anyone with something to donate, let them know. There’s some good stuff up for bidding. The auction runs through May, but don’t dawdle…
Times are tough. But battling stage IV colon cancer? I’m guessing it’s worse than a recession.
